I myself hail from Wisconsin, and am currently an IT student who got copies of Server 2008 (and R2) with my tuition.

Have lurked for quite a bit and applied several of the ideas here on this site, even though I use my Server 2008 R2 also as a domain controller. However, I am working on converting a 32-bit version of Server 2008 installed in VMware completely using this guide, and can vouch for how great it runs (so far)!
