I need for my test enviroment Windows 2008 server. Foundation version is very cheap I can buy it without hardware, but the seller told me, that will work only on a few HP servers. Product is labeled "HP MS Win2008 Server Foundation R2 CZ + 15CAL" but on DVD isn´t any HP sign. I installed Foundation successfully on my laptop (I have Founadtion DVD ), but I´m not sure if will pass activation process on such hardware (Lenovo R61 laptop). Thanks for any advice.

As far as I know, no Windows editions are bound to be only licensed to use with some specific server hardware.

If you already installed it, I would just try to activate it and see if it works. In case it doesn't work, please share the activation error with us.
