Hi,

I recently got an hd 6450 to install on a dell r900 with 2008r2 but it wont even recognize when monitors are connected to the new card.
Tried running the 12.4 install and it didnt even see the card.
So I successfully loaded the driver first, and then installed ccc. Which went fine, but ccc wont run.

the main trouble I have is that no monitors are ever detected even though 2008r2 recognizes the card and raises no events or errors!

the card has 3 ports and I've tried them all! Tried different slots in the server.

I suspect it may be complicated by the embedded video which is a ati es1000. I've tried disabling it in the OS without any luck...it doesnt have an option to disable in the bios.

Of course, eventually I would like to get ccc working...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello, you have tried to disable in the bios using the integrated video, and enable PCIEG because some HP computers bring that option. Here is another problem regarding the version of the drivers, the native version of ATI 12-1_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc it has full compatibility with Win2k8 R2, the following versions do not.
I explain this because I had the opportunity to test the ATI HD5570 to HD6770.

I finally figured out the issue. The DRAC (dell remote access card) enables you to remotely see the screen and was preventing the secondary card from working.

As soon as I removed that, all the monitors were recognized.
But then I the ati driver was slowwwwwww....
Something is still not right. I cant get CCC to work, and the graphics are actually slower than the embedded 32mb card from 2009. (For example when UAC greys the screen to ask confirmation to run something with elevation, it takes 8 seconds to grey and then 8 seconds to un-grey the screen).

As the previous poster mentioned, I will try 12.1
