If this is a fresh install of windows server make sure that all necessary server components have been installed and updated, see your server console for installed components such as aero theme, audio, and .net framework.

No, you can't do that, inside the .sfx archive you'll see 4 different folders with catalyst, hydra, video, and cap 12.3. You want to go inside each folder and install them separately with a reboot after each. But before you do this, be sure to turn on aero theme and .net framework in your server. Then uninstall your current catalyst properly with these steps:

1) uninstall ALL AMD drivers and software, uninstalling AMD install manager as well.
2) reboot to safe mode and clean with the driver sweeper
3) reboot and from windows device manager delete the Standard VGA device.
4) reboot and wait for the standard vga to install.

It has been tested on 7 different machines with different hardware and Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard/Enterprise,

The issue i had was CATALYST CONTROL CENTER: HOST APPLICATION HAS STOPPED WORKING
This is how i got CCC to run on Windows Server 2008 R2.
1.) Go to Server Manager > Features > Install >NET Framework 3.5.1 Features
2.) Reboot after install
3.) Launch CCC, still get the same error above.
4.) Unhide Appdata folder for the current user
5.) I now get a new error: The catalyst control center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics card. Please update your AMD graphics driver, or enable your AMD adapter using the display manager. CCC launches but not all options are available. After i close CCC, it no longer launches, and there are no errors.
6.) Go to device manager > display adapters > uninstall the graphics card, but don't delete the driver.
7.) Device manager >action > scan for hardware changes.
8.) CCC now launches with all options available.

* it's important to do everything in the list, as when you are searching you'll see all the methods listed above but some users had resolved their issue by only doing 1 of the steps, where i had tried, uninstalling/reinstalling, unhiding appdata, installing .Net 4.0, installing visual c++ 2010 x64, etc..., but i needed to do everything mentioned above to get it working. I hope this helps others as i spent a solid 4 hours on this.

*also i did not come up w/ this all on my own. I just put the steps together that worked for me.

I prefer to use the original installer 12-1_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc.exe (MD5 C7264A57599028B35372277C24D3E74B 148MB), and my computer has no problems of any kind, is working perfectly.

That's why I have posted this many times, that in order to fix the error,

take these simple steps to PROPERLY uninstall ATI/AMD related software:

1) uninstall ALL AMD drivers and software, uninstalling AMD install manager as well.
2) reboot to safe mode and clean with the driver sweeper
3) reboot and from windows device manager delete the Standard VGA device.
4) reboot and wait for the standard vga to install.
5) install the new catalyst

As simple as that, just need to uninstall the previous version p r o p e r l y. Very important to delete STandard VGA, reboot and let it automatically reinstall.

The only problem with the original installer is that you are missing a lot of stuff (unless you don't care for):

- openCL
- encoding/decoding/transcoding
- video converter
- hydravision

There's no way to get them without editting the original installer.

Again, without .NET FRAMEWORK in your server Catalyst won't run.

The file downloaded from sendspace seems to be broken, 7-zip showed many 691 error. I opened the extracted folder any many files with 0KB.

I will try the hotfile.

They're both fine, just download them completely and use the latest 7zip.
