What is the correct spelling, with or without S, or are they both correct? Searching the Internet, both names for the bar on the right side of the screen in Windows 8 / Server 2012 are used almost equally often. While writing the manual I want to use the correct spelling.

Thanks for your input! :)

The answer seems a little creepy actually; on Microsoft sites they' actually just call it 'Charms' with no 'Bar' at all... I say creepy because this is a trend started by certain effeminate men in the U.S. fashion industry renaming colors after other nouns, where blue is no longer 'blue' but 'berry', and that's not the creepy part -- the creepy part was this was seen by even creepier Marketing Weenies as an opportunity to trademark and in certain circumstances even patent something like a specific shade of blue, and the word 'berry' to describe it. I hope this isn't where Microsoft is going with this, I think the we've seen enough of this already...

Now taken off the market by Microsoft litigation, and no loger allowed to be sold....

Thanks hoak! :) I almost forgot this topic.

Updated some of the pages in the manual. I will however keep using 'charms bar' because that's more clear. Stupid trademarks... ;)

I agree, 'Charms' is just too vague, and it seems like Microsoft has stepped on a hornet's nest with all the new Windows NT 6.2 nomenclature with Metro, Modern UI, NCI and now Charms...

On a related note is it possible to create Desktop shortcuts (or hard/soft links) to individual Metro Charms items?
