My professor just gave me a copy of Windows Server 2008 Enterprise edition courtesy of Microsoft to mess around with. I stumbled across this site and decided to try it... Best decision ever. I am literally blown away by the difference in performance. Sadly, I only have the x86 version of Server 2008. Is there a big performance difference between that and the x64 version on a quad core with 8GB of memory? Still a little surprised that the 32bit version reads all 8GB of ram. Thanks in advance.

Also, is there a way to disable all the server features in Server 2008?

While x86 can see the 8GB of RAM, it and most applications will not be able to use most of it. As a result, you must install x64 to use all 8GB.
