I'd discourage it unless or until there's an update as it not only has security issues like Picture Password & PIN for Authentication on Windows 8, it also can corrupt account stores and make them and/or the OS installation unrecoverable.

:?

go to local security policy / local policy / security options / Accounts: Block Microsoft accounts
change it to disable this policy
DONE!
I think you need to reboot to apply changes

It probably needs something else beside the "Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant" service running...I've enabled that one too, but am not able to add a username @outlook.com, since it cuts me off on the .com...maybe someone else can figure the rest of it. :geek:

On a client Windows 8 OS, is this service running permanantly?
Update: It seems that on Win 8, like in WS2012, this service is set to start manualy, meaning that it will only start if you log in on a Microsoft, not as a pre-requisite of it. I have enabled Microsoft Accounts in Group Policy, no use. My guess is that this feature is absent from WS2012.

This can also be done by using single sign on with active directory federation services. Or Azure Active Directory...

change it to disable this policy and read the jes extender manual first.

Doesn't work for me. Is there something else you did that you didn't post here?

Hi,

There is a easier way to resolve the problem.

Go to Manage, then services and go to Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant.

Double click on MASA and change startup type to automatic, then restart the pc.

That's it, you should get the error any longer.

Thanks
