Using Sysinternals Autoruns, you can see in the Winlogon tab the required credential providers are already registered. The option to use them does however not show up at the PC Settings screen.

Thanks for your input! I tested it however and it seems that there are probably more things in the way of enabling this feature in Windows Server 2012.

List of things that I can currently thing of that could cause the problem:
* Files are missing
* Windows version/edition is checked and considered invalid to use this feature
* Registry keys are missing
** Dlls not registered (missing classes in register)
** Undocumented policy settings? (missing/wrong keys in register)

What a mess I wish they had released server 2012 at the appropriate time I'm still getting the program default error in it.

Well considering the intended market for Server 2012 and the issues already discovered with the PP & PIN system, like the fact that it stores your password in open text, and that PP really isn't secure authentication from get-go -- suggests to me this is no loss to anyone, regardless of how they'll use Server 2012.

I'm just surprised at the shabby clean-up Microsoft has done on the Server build of the NT 6.2 OS; it seems that ex-Microsoft Developer comments on the OS's bloated state, code obscurity (where Microsoft is even loosing track of code features and issues), is only going to be made worse by Microsoft's intention to accelerate the release schedule of future iterations of Windows...
