one question: does anyone knows why the wmvs stops after a few minutes? I know they repeat a few times, but then ... they stop
Also I know: They stop if i view fullscreen apps and then they repeat
and second question:
is there a way to strech the video to both tfts ? because i use dual monitoring hehe
The DreamScene video should be repeated eternally and for me it also does. Try some other wmv files because it should work fine!
Just attached a second monitor to my pc to test Dualscreen-DreamScene and it works fine. I expanded my desktop to the other screen so I got one screen with Start-bar and icons with a moving DreamScene video and on the other screen I just had an empty desktop with that video again. Looks exactly like the following movie: MSN Video: DreamScene on Dual Monitors
I think, if the regsvr32 failed, the way by original reg entrys from vista would be okay but i had no luck =(
You are right about that. I think this has to do with Licensing issues. If you look in the C:\Windows\System32\licensing\ppdlic folder on a Windows Vista system and compare it to that folder in Windows Server 2008 you 'll see that the following files are missing in Server 2008:
When executing the regsvr32 file.dll command in fact it just executes the exported DllRegisterServer function within the dynamic link library. Executing rundll32 file.dll,DllRegisterServer will have the same effect. It looks like in that the DllRegisterServer function and functions that executing while using the codecs contain checks whether you have the license to install/use the msmpeg2 audio- and videocodecs. Couldn't find out (yet) how to circumvent these checks...
It should be possible to find out using IDA Dissasembler
or any other dissasembler application but I'm not yet that experienced to find it... Maybe someone else can try it or have alternative codecs?
